Fred’s greatest joy is cooking and entertaining for friends and family. His second greatest joy is appliances. No, really. Fred is a third-generation appliance dealer, proudly serving customers personally for 40+ years. 

 

Albano Appliance began in 1952 by Alfredo Albano. Their retail store has been in business for over 70 years. Fred’s love for product started quite literally when he was 10 years old, helping his Dad and Uncle in the warehouse and on the sales floor. Working in various roles throughout high school and college, he joined the team full time in 1987. When he took over Albano Appliance in 1997, he expanded Albano’s to include some of the industry’s top luxury  appliances. With 40+ years in the industry, he’s been able to focus on quality equipment for his customers’ indoor and outdoor kitchens. 

 

The launch of the Ox Grill is a natural progression of this journey. 

 

Fred stumbled upon Ox purely by accident— misspelling a model number in a Google search. What he saw stopped him in his tracks. “I saw robust construction that is beautiful and approachable”. He was intrigued by the fact that over 80% of what Ox builds is for the restaurant industry. Understanding consumers’ frustrations with maintenance and service, he saw the potential in Ox for the home cook. The intuitive design and commercial-grade  construction is exactly what he was looking for in outdoor cooking. He reached out to the Ox team and a partnership began. Together, they designed 3 models to complement the American cook: The Plymouth, The Newport, and The Portsmouth. 

 

Fred’s philosophy is simple. “At the end of the day, few of us are professional chefs, but that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate good construction and quality, high-end tools. This is a grill that’s easy to use and can stay in the family for generations.”
